QUEST: 1,000 Woodcuts

February 2006 Update -  231 completed
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Hello dear friends!

The floating world series is now complete, although I seem to be behind in catching up to web work and have not yet taken a picture of the last two images. All four floating world prints and three of the blocks are now in my booth at a festival near you.

Several more images planned, two in color and a rather large Grand Canyon series, as a recent trip left me in awe of this amazing wonder. I visited the West Rim, dusted off some old pictures of the North Rim and I am planning a South Rim trip in mid March to complete the set.

As always, you can peruse the latest works here:

Thoughts and ramblings:

I started the year with a "mini season" of four festivals in a row and quickly found out I'm feeling too old and too tired to keep up that pace. With three down and one to go, I am looking forward to near a month off.
Last festival I spent two days in 36 degree weather, which may not seem so bad to those of you in cold climates but I had to stand outside all day long without feeling the warmth of my usual customers. Smart as all my collectors seem to be, they stayed home!
But the wind and freezing rain taught me once more that I am lucky to be doing what I love to do. Somehow standing in the cold reminded me of the warm days of an approaching spring. My body temperature warmed up by late Tuesday and I finished tying up some loose ends by Wednesday, only to find myself packing again and getting anxious to be on the road.

I am looking forward to this last festival in February in sunny Arizona, one of my favorites, full of festivities and life and coinciding with a show of hot-air balloons. Should be a sight to see and I will update my photo albums with many pictures.

As usual, you can read more about my current endeavors by reading the diary:

Quote of the Day

"We work in the dark - we do what we can - we give what we have.
Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task.
The rest is the madness of art."
Henry James
