QUEST: 1,000 Woodcuts
Spring 2008 Update - Enjoying the Year!
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Hello dear friends!
Spring is here and I'm
printing colors again. Here is the latest from the Valley of Fire, Fire Canyon.
I called it "They Let You In" because I enjoy going into the hundreds of
mini-canyons that beckon me to enter.
Sometimes I walk into
them and they get steeper and steeper and more and more convoluted...until
I'm delightfully trapped by tall cliffs and shady rock ledges. Nothing to
do but back out again. Fortunately, the desert gives me a new view every
time I change directions. On very fortunate ocassions, I am rewarded by the
rare "tinaja", a pool of spring or rain water that collects in a hidden sharp
turn of the canyons. Careful observation of the sands that surround these
pools reveal a myriad of desert wildlife. So as to not disturb the critters,
I tip-toe back out and enjoy their visits from afar.

News
I'm enjoying time off the festival circuit and getting home
projects done. New art is flourishing and I will update as I finish the new
works. In the meantime, "The Latest" outlines my adventures in the familiar
blog format. Subscribe to the blog if you wish:

My available woodblocks and a large selection of works are
currently being shown in the DeZion Gallery. If you have not visited Springdale,
Utah and the DeZion Gallery, you are missing two gems! At the entrance of
Zion National Park and just a couple of hours from Las Vegas, this beautiful
art mecca features many local artists. The beauty of Zion Park is unrivaled.
Take I-15 just North of St. George and follow the signs to
Zion National Park. The DeZion Gallery is on the main street 1051 Zion Park
Boulevard. It is a beautiful terracotta building on the right.
Finally, for those of you who prefer to look at works online,
I will be updating the website and have opened a new shop with my older and
retired works. I am also making available some collections at pretty good
prices. Check out Etsy for everything hand-made: http://1000woodcuts.etsy.com
