With an art fair coming up next weekend, I have put a halt to printmaking for about 3 days in order to engage in that aweful activity that we call matting and framing. Of course I am kidding, I somewhat enjoy dressing up my little prints in their party costumes so that they will look their absolute best for curious onlookers and art lovers. Not nearly as much as I enjoy making the prints themselves, but presentation is a huge key to a successful exhibit.
Quickly I will update you and leave your mailboxes as fast as I intruded
in them.
I posted four more prints in the Quest: 1,000 Woodcuts page. You may

Thoughts and Ramblings
An interesting issue has emerged regarding my recent announcement of
the pursuit of my goal, about whether "committing" to make quantity would
affect the quality of my work. In other words, will my work change for
the worst? Will I start making fast and furious "quickies" just to put
another notch on the wall?
Interestingly, I guess I never thought of making "this many" woodcuts
as quantity. I simply self-analyzed the way I work, decided that I could
probably make 1,000 prints, and set out on a course to do it. Making the
announcement public was a mere formality, however committing, that will
keep me on the straight and narrow on those times when I stray from my
true nature. The committment neither scares me nor overwhelms me, I see
it as my very good friend, goading me to continue, helping me to focus,
aiding in my aim to become a better printmaker--a better artist. How else
can we strive to improve if not by disciplined practice?
I guess the ultimate judge will be you and time.
Special of the Month
As announced in the Quest page, every time I publish this update I
will offer some of the prints on the website to you as a token of my appreciation
for your patient ears (or eyes). This month I though I would do something
outrageous and offer any of the above prints at 50% of their listed price.
I extend these offers in gratitude to you for being my momentary captive
audience. Contact me by e-mail if interested, or if you live in Las Vegas,
come on by to any of my upcoming exhibits and demand your discount then!

Quote of the Day
"I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I
just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width
of it as well."
--Diane Ackerman
Live on!
Thanks for listening,
