Block: Cherry
Ink: Mixes of copper, umber,
green/blue, gold
Paper: BFK Lightweight Buff
Process: This is a "puzzle" piece, in which the block was sawn in 3 pieces
prior to printing. Each piece is inked separately with its separate color, the
block is assembled at press. There is a rainbow mix on each piece, which means
I mixed two inks while loading the roller. The result is a color print done
in one single pass.
Image: I wanted to make some companion pieces to Entre
Viento Y Sol, a print completed in 2000. Yoga poses in nature seem like an endless
inspiration for new works. The desert is very conducive to meditation and becoming
one with nature.
